Mother wanted for questioning in custodial interference probe, 6-year-old daughter missing since July 6

Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public to help find a mother and her elementary school-aged daughter who have not been seen for a week. The 48-year-old mom is also wanted for questioning in a custodial interference investigation.

Police report that Sarah Coultas and her 6-year-old daughter Violet Coultas-Benson were last seen together at 4 p.m. July 6 at the top of Miloli‘i Road in South Kona.

Coultas most recently lived in Pa‘auilo and worked in Hilo, but she might frequent the Kona and Ka‘ū areas.

Coultas is white, 5-fooot-11, 160 pounds, with straight brown hair and hazel eyes. Her daughter Violet is also white, 3-foot-10, 43 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes.

Coultas could be driving a silver 2005 or 2006 Toyota Corolla with a faded hood; license plate number is unknown.
