Hawaiian Electric reschedules utility work in Kona

The utility work postponed from July 9 on ʻĀhikawa Street in Kona has been rescheduled to July 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hawaiian Electric crews will be replacing a utility pole, closing a portion of ʻĀhikawa Street between Hōlū Street and Kiekie Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Motorists are advised to use ʻĀhulani Street as an alternate route and drive with caution approaching the work zone.

Flagmen will be on-site to assist motorists and pedestrians during the work.

Other utility work scheduled for July 17 in South Kona has been postponed to July 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
